Technical Services Officer (Churchill, Manitoba.)

Job Details

This position is responsible for providing or supervising maintenance services to support the asset management program in Parks Canada sites in Northern Manitoba, including Wapusk National Park, York Factory, and Prince of Wales National Historic Sites. Assets covered include buildings, bridges, parking lots, cultural assets, utilities, vehicles, heavy equipment, and more.

Required Education:
Graduation from a post-secondary institute with a trade certification or diploma in architectural, building, construction, civil, electrical, mechanical, or structural engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in the development of plans for maintaining and purchasing equipment.
  • Experience in maintaining, repairing, and replacing built assets.
  • Experience in supervising staff and managing financial resources.
  • Experience working with diverse contractors, staff, and trades groups.
  • Experience in contract and project management.
  • Experience monitoring capital projects, including reporting and record-keeping.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of construction, operation, and maintenance codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety policies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and provide solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to organize work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to plan and supervise work, and store information in a database.

Salary Package:
$71,741 to $90,185 (plus isolated post allowance).
