The National Capital Commission (NCC) is seeking students for summer positions in the Official Residences Division, which includes maintaining and displaying national landscape treasures at six Official Residences in Ontario and Quebec, including Rideau Hall. The students will gain hands-on outdoor experience in landscaping tasks like floral bed displays, weed control, pruning, planting, and more. Positions include Student – Grounds, Student – Gardens, and Student – Greenhouse roles. The program runs from May to August 2025.
Required Education:
- Full-time High School, CEGEP, college, or university student
- Enrolled in full-time studies in the next academic year
Required Experience:
- No prior work experience required, but willingness to work outdoors and in physically demanding conditions is essential.
Skills:
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Valid driver’s license (Ontario Class G, Quebec Class 5, or provincial equivalent)
- Good driver’s abstract
Salary Package:
Student rates of pay determined by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
