Maintenance Worker III (Dawson, Yukon)

Job Details

As a Maintenance Worker III with Parks Canada, you will work as part of a skilled and semi-skilled maintenance team responsible for maintaining and repairing national historic sites in and around Dawson, YT. Duties include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing historic structures, and assisting with construction projects under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Required Education:

  • Successful completion of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Experience:

  • Experience with the safe use and maintenance of power and hand tools and test equipment used in building trades.
  • Experience in building construction techniques for historic and contemporary structures.
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of historic structures.

Skills:

  • Ability to carry out semi-skilled trade functions related to building and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to perform manual labor tasks in a safe manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and manuals.
  • Ability to provide leadership on the job site.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Salary Package:

  • $29.20 to $31.73 per hour (plus Isolated Post Allowance: $7.73 to $12.88 per hour).
