The Maintenance Worker will supervise a team responsible for basic maintenance and cleaning of park facilities, including scheduling tasks, leave approvals, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The role also involves conducting semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting within Pukaskwa National Park, including fleet management and compliance inspections.
Required Education:
High school or vocational diploma, or an acceptable combination of formal education, training, and experience.
Required Experience:
- Recent experience (at least 1 year in the last 3 years) in leading and conducting maintenance, repair, and building services in a team environment.
- Experience in operating and maintaining grounds machinery and tools.
- Experience in building and fleet maintenance, and compliance inspections.
- Experience supervising staff and students.
- Proficiency with computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience in maintaining work records.
Skills:
- Knowledge of Indigenous history, culture, and heritage of Northwestern Ontario.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices (e.g., WHMIS, Canada Labour Code).
- Ability to monitor quality standards and supervise team members.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
Salary Package:
$29.20 to $31.73 per hour (+ 6.5% Supervisory Differential and Isolated Post Allowance).
