The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, repairing, and overhauling mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems in a Class 1 Central Heating Plant with high-pressure steam boilers and ancillary equipment. The role also involves performing preventive maintenance, maintaining records, sourcing parts, and responding to emergency repairs to restore heating and cooling services.
Required Education:
- Oil burner (Oil Heat System Technician Red Seal)
- Millwright Red Seal
- Power Engineer (Class 3 or Class 2)
Required Experience:
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of hot water boilers and heating systems.
- Experience making decisions related to the inspection, installation, and repair of equipment using applicable codes, act/standards, and safety practices.
- Experience identifying, installing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment using appropriate types of hand tools, power tools, machinery, or electrical testing equipment.
- Experience reading and interpreting mechanical wiring diagrams, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
