The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is looking for a senior-career Industrial Technology Advisor (ITA) to support the NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). This role involves assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in scaling and commercializing innovative products. ITAs help businesses navigate technical or business hurdles, connect them with key opportunities, and mentor them through the growth process.
Required Education:
- Post-secondary degree in Science or Engineering in a discipline related to the position from a recognized university.
- A combination of a post-secondary degree in another field with significant relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Preference may be given to candidates with a complementary degree or diploma in business, management, administration, finance, or marketing.
Required Experience:
- Recent and extensive industrial business experience as an entrepreneur or senior manager in AI, Software, Material Science, Advanced Manufacturing, and Clean Technology.
- Experience launching and scaling new ventures, raising venture capital, designing and implementing Go-to-Market strategies, and developing innovative business models.
- Experience in international business development and/or intellectual property management is an asset.
- Experience in working with SMEs is highly desirable.
- “Recent” experience refers to the last 3 years.
Skills:
- Solid knowledge of SME business management, marketing of technology, and increasing productivity.
- Advanced knowledge of technology, innovation, and commercialization within the sector.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication, initiative, networking, client focus, and results orientation skills.
Salary Package:
$140,321 to $164,894 annually, with placement based on experience.
