Transport Canada’s Aircraft Services Directorate is seeking a Chief Pilot – Rotary Wing to manage flight training programs, direct the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supervise check pilots. The role includes overseeing helicopter operations, investigating operational incidents, and managing financial and human resources.
Required Education:
- Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Experience:
- 4,000 hours turbine-powered helicopter flight time, with 3,000 hours as pilot in command.
- 500 hours in multi-engine helicopters.
- Recent experience in managing helicopter operations, financial resources, and human resources.
- A minimum of 250 hours of PIC within the last three years.
Skills:
- Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations for VFR and IFR helicopters.
- Knowledge of helicopter training practices and quality control.
- Safety Management System processes.
- Ability to create vision and strategy, collaborate, promote innovation, and achieve results.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Salary Package:
$129,866 to $152,489
