National Historic Site and Visitor Experience Manager I – Fort St. James National Historic Site (Fort St. James, British Columbia)

Job Details

The position involves managing the development and delivery of Parks Canada programs, operations, and services at Fort St. James National Historic Site. The site houses the largest collection of original and restored fur trade buildings in Canada. The position also includes overseeing visitor experience opportunities, collaborating with local and international visitors, and handling moderate complexity program and operational challenges.

Required Education:

  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in business administration, marketing, cultural resource management, museum studies, history, archaeology, tourism, or other relevant fields, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in museum, cultural resource, heritage site, or park operations and/or management.
  • Experience in establishing and implementing collaborative arrangements for visitor experience development.
  • Experience managing human and financial resources, and supervising staff.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of cultural resource management, historical research, marketing, interpretation, tourism, and hospitality management.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in marketing and heritage conservation.
  • Ability to manage resources (time, financial, human, and cultural) to achieve planning goals.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Leadership and teamwork promotion.

Salary Package:
$80,860 to $87,376
