Geomatics Technician (Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park, Tobermory, Ontario)

Parks Canada is hiring a Geomatics Technician to provide geomatics technical services, including mapping, spatial analysis, and data management for Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park. Responsibilities include developing and implementing geomatics tools and projects, acquiring and processing geospatial data, producing GIS products, and participating in cross-functional programs.

Required Education:

  • Diploma in geomatics, geography, cartography, or related fields OR
  • An acceptable combination of two years post-secondary education, training, and experience related to geomatics.

Required Experience:

  • Experience acquiring, storing, processing, analyzing, and disseminating scientific and geospatial data.
  • Proficiency in GIS (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS) and office software (e.g., MS Office).
  • Experience troubleshooting geomatics systems.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of geomatics methodologies, systems, and tools.
  • Ability to work with scientific data and GIS systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and judgment skills.

Salary Package:
$71,741 to $90,184
